The image shows a weathered green glass bottle lying on its side in a dimly lit, possibly damp environment. A label on the bottle's surface reads be careful in lowercase letters. Inside the bottle, a small paper boat is visible, symbolizing a delicate and cautious journey. A thick rope is tied around the bottle's neck, lying across the surface beneath it. The overall scene has a vintage and mysterious atmosphere, with a slight greenish tint suggesting age or decay.

Dear Nam-kyu,

You won’t believe what showed up on my Bottle Line today.

I pulled the bottle out—same as always, heavy, wet, the usual stink—and there it was: a cable. Black, thick, wrapped around the neck like it was waiting. Almost got stuck on the way up.

And inside the bottle? No real message. Just a slip of paper that said: be careful.

You know me—I can handle muck, pipes, anything that leaks or groans. But wires? Electricity? That’s out of my depth. I’ve got no idea if this was just junk or if someone’s tapping into something down there. Could be nothing. But it doesn’t feel like nothing.

You’ve got the brains for this. Should I keep the line quiet for a while? Check anything? I’m staying sharp until I hear from you. And if you spot something off down in your corner, let me know.

Stay safe,
Kyung-hwan

A person wearing a hard hat and protective gear is crouching inside a dimly lit tunnel, illuminated by a single overhead light. The tunnel is cylindrical with wet, muddy floors, suggesting a sewer or underground passage. The person appears to be inspecting or holding a bottle with a message attached to a rope. Pipes run along the right wall, and there is an open pipe or entrance on the right side, adding to the industrial, gritty atmosphere.
